On July 30, Pointe Precision hosted a group 15 of local K-12 educators from surrounding communities (Nekoosa, Port Edwards, Stevens Point, and Wisconsin Rapids school districts) to help build a working relationship between schools and area businesses. This visit was part of a week-long, UW La Crosse credited course coordinated by Incourage Community Foundation’s Manufacturing Partnership. Educators learned about various businesses, their products, services and business models, hiring processes, career opportunities as well as the hard and soft skills needed to be successful in these careers.
The group toured the facility and had an opportunity to interact with a panel of current and former youth apprentices. The educators were impressed with the enthusiasm and motivation of the staff and entire organization. They see tremendous future opportunities within the company and industry with the new jet engine technologies as well as new additive manufacturing processes.
